Attractive salary package of $320k (total remuneration package) plus bonus 

The GEO Group Australia Pty Ltd (GEO) is seeking a commercial Legal Director to provide strategic leadership and oversight across the organisation’s operations with a primary focus on operating contracts, risk mitigation, industrial relations and quality assurance.

What You Will Do

  • Provide expert legal advice and interpretation on the organisation’s operating contracts and associated agreements particularly with government agencies and third - party service providers
  • Provide legal oversight on insurance programs and risk mitigation strategies
  • Oversee and manage all litigation and dispute resolution matters affecting the organisation
  • Provide expert advice to and assist Management Teams negotiating new Enterprise Bargaining Agreements and ensure adherence to Fair Work Commission requirements
  • Provide expert advice on legislative requirements and employment conditions including those contained in Policies and Awards
  • Advise and assist HR Specialists and managers with grievance resolution, disciplinary issues, injury management and compensation matters
  • Ensure alignment of quality standards and policies with contractual legal and accreditation requirements

 

Is This You? Your Essential Skills for Success

We are looking for a leader who thrives in fast paced, complex environments and brings:

  • A degree in Law or related discipline and at least 10 years of experience with the ability to cover contract, commercial and employment law
  • Proven ability to advise on complex contracts and management of risk mitigation strategies
  • Experience working with enterprise agreements, employment legislation and working with unions
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills with the ability to effectively communicate with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to lead and mentor teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Results-orientated with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes for the organisation and its legal compliance
  • Alignment with the Company values; integrity; respect; accountable; agile; innovation
  • Familiarity with ISO standards or formal quality systems would be highly regarded
